In 2013, after a 30 year career in the NZ Police, Arthur Harper traded in his badge for a paint brush, choosing retirement as a chance to focus on his artistic drive, improve his technique and develop a profile as an Artist.
After painting pieces for friends and family, word quickly spread about his talent for re-creating in detail scenes from picturesque locations around New Zealand and soon he was backed up with commissions from people wanting a painting of the view from their bach, a childhood home or even the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland.
Arthur lives in Hamilton with his wife Heather. He varies his working week either in his art studio or as a handyman for hire - residential tree/hedge trimming, waterblasting, interior/exterior home renovations.
